What does it take to get out of Iraq with a Iraqi passport? Iraqi playwright Amir al-Azraqi takes us on the absurd journey of visas, rejections, and searches that most Middle Easterners experience at airports with this tour-de-force play with movement.
Staged as part of Golden Thread’s signature program, ReOrient Festival of Short Plays in 2012 in San Francisco, STUCK was staged as a hip hop spoken word performance accompanied by live Blues guitar.
Incorporating stock video footage, video designer Wesley Cabral created a surreal environment of Hollywood movies (007, no less!) and Big Brother watching. Featuring Shoresh Alaudini as the refugee, and Munaf Alsafi on guitar.
